Once Santa has been and gone and the leftover turkey sandwiches have been eaten, you’d be forgiven for feeling a little deflated. Don’t worry, the biggest party night of the year is just around the corner! Dublin is a vibrant bustling city, and this is especially true on New Year’s Eve. The city literally comes alive on this special night with thousands of people taking to the streets to ring in the new year. Here are some unmissable events taking place around the city:

NYE Concert

For the past few years, there has been a spectacular open-air concert to celebrate NYE in Dublin. This year the 3 Countdown Concert takes place at Custom House Quay and is a very popular choice for groups of friends and families alike. This year the concert is being headlined by the amazing Irish singer Gavin James with support from Hudson Taylor, Wild Youth and Inhaler. The concert promises to be an evening of festive fun and we’re sure you’ll hear all your favourite Christmas tunes along the way.

Midnight Moment

If you don’t get tickets for the concert there is a free event happening at Custom House Quay which will be just as spectacular. The Liffey Lights Midnight Moment begins at 11.30pm to say goodbye to 2018 and welcome 2019 with a dazzling display of lights. There will be an amazing display of lasers and aqua beams accompanied by a live DJs and percussionists performing on the water. The event will build in excitement and have its crescendo at midnight so make sure you bring a group of friends and family to ring in the new year with.

In the past few years, Dublin has had an explosion of restaurants, cafes and bars which showcase the various cultures who call Dublin home. There are Mexicans, Chinese & Japanese food, Thai, Italians, street food, tapas and so much more so no matter your taste we have something to suit you. On NYE a lot of these restaurants celebrate with their guests in our traditional ways and some a little more unusual to our Irish customs. Make sure your last meal of the year is fantastic by visiting one of the many restaurants dotted around the city. Choose one that suits you and make sure to book in advance.

Pubs & Clubs

We’re not sure about you but the best way to ring in the New Year for us is with a glass of prosecco and dancing the night away! Dublin’s many pubs and clubs each have a unique way of celebrating NYE, but all involve a countdown and plenty of alcohol. You can find a drag party, masquerade party, Mexican Mascarada and a 70s disco party all within 5 minutes’ walk of each other! Grab a bunch of friends and have a night to remember in Dublin City Centre.

After the celebrations are finished and the city starts to clear out, all you’ll want is to have a restful sleep in a comfortable, stylish and spacious room that’s all for you.

PREMIER SUITES Ballsbridge is in an ideal location and our great value rates means you can still afford a fantastic night out.

We wish all our guests a happy and prosperous New Year!
